DEVENDRA PRATAP SINGH TOMAR
Youth Icon of Madhya Pradesh | Passionate Sportsman | Sports Administrator & Promoter
Sport is regarded across Madhya Pradesh as a powerful platform for building discipline, confidence, character and leadership among young people — a belief that has long been reflected in the range of sporting causes taken up by the state's Youth Icon. Involvement has been extended across multiple sporting disciplines, demonstrating a broad and inclusive vision for sports development. Athletes have consistently been supported, participation has been encouraged, and opportunities have been created for emerging talent, with a focus that has always been kept on the athlete rather than the institution.

ABHIRAM SHARMA
President, Madhya Pradesh Squash Rackets Association (MPSRA) | Sportsman | Entrepreneur | Sports Promoter
A stronger, more vibrant sporting culture in Madhya Pradesh is what is being pursued by the President of MPSRA — a role approached with the instincts of a sportsman and the discipline of an entrepreneur. A graduate of the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior, a strong foundation in physical education and competitive sport was built early on, later put to the test as an accomplished basketball player. The discipline, dedication, teamwork and perseverance demanded by competitive sport were learned first-hand on the court, long before a professional career was built in the business world — a career that never came at the cost of a lasting connection to sport.
That playing experience has shaped a clear understanding that athletes need far more than talent alone: the right facilities, encouragement, exposure, organised competition and a supportive ecosystem are all seen as essential. Support has, over the years, been consistently extended to major sporting events and initiatives, wherever experience, resources and capability could make a difference — whether through backing events, assisting with organisation, or encouraging participation. Business acumen and sporting experience are brought together in equal measure to sports administration, allowing squash and racket sports in Madhya Pradesh to be viewed not only through an athlete's eyes but through the lens of organisation, sustainability, partnerships and long-term development.
